I am trying to saw through the blue-gray carpet of my cube for a window…
Ike, I truly like this quote. I like it because I think that, too often, people get caught up in trying to be all things to all people. Or they get caught up in being territorial, no matter if it is at work, in the neighborhood, in a social setting, school, well, you get the drift. For example, sometimes you see a person at work who concentrates solely on changing the “world” his or her way by throwing around a title, working to control projects, etc. Whereas a person just doing his or her job the best that they can, well, that is when you see the idea work or the process be improved or anything that is progress! Why? Because whatever they are working on is to better the business. Or help the customers. Or make the process simpler for all or even just that one person.
