I Kant understands teh Intarwebs.

And it has nothing to do with the ridiculous spelling, whether it’s the LOLcats feigned ignorance, or the intentional crop-and-drop of letters. (I’m looking at you, Flickr and Tumblr.)

The mystery is in the origin of our online etiquette and morality.

When Your Friend Gets Hacked

“Help, I’ve been mugged in the United Kingdom!”

If you do see this pop up in a Facebook chat, don’t freak out.

It means your friend has been hacked. It usually starts with their email address being compromised, and the identity thief uses that to take over other online accounts.

Here’s what you need to know to help your friend (and here’s why you don’t want to try to hack my friends.)

Divergence? Surely You Can’t Be Serious

I am serious, and stop calling me Shirley.

That line became a part of the culture a generation ago, and some might argue it was popular enough to still be recognized before the recent death of Leslie Nielsen. What you may not know is how much of a landmark that line (and the genre of humor around it) truly had become.
