Newsroom Know-how

“If the newsroom culture had truly been one of fiduciary smarts, “Craigslist” would have been started by a news organization, and cloned across the country within two years.”

- Ike Pigott

My Quotes

I seriously doubt I will ever rise to the level of Bartlett’s Book of Quotations, much less any of the myriad of “famous quotes” sites that seem to rip each other off. But from time to time, I do happen to stumble across something resembling the truth, wrapped up in some loose garment of pithy prose, adorned with the glitter of wit one would expect from a horribly mangled mixed metaphor.

So now I have a category for just such an occasion, where I can publish the bon mot as it is spawned.

Fairness

“Life is not fair… but we must all proceed with the faith that over the course of all our lives, it will be more or less equally unfair to all of us.”

- Ike Pigott

Panic

“I’ve yet to see ‘panic‘ listed as an ingredient in any known recipe for success, although I’ve seen many managers who seem addicted to the taste.”

- Ike Pigott
