I am not afraid to fly. I am afraid of hitting the ground REALLY REALLY FAST.
Yes, but “Fear of Sudden Deceleration Syndrome” isn’t as catchy.
No one wants to look bad. Give them enough ramp to save face. Hope you are well, OB1.
My young Padawan, the notion of allowing an adversary to “save face” is very Chinese indeed, embedded in the culture. Many wars and conflicts are avoided when we give our detractors enough ramp to descend gracefully, without public embarrassment.
So by extension, we ought to provide that for the people we like as well.
I am indeed well. Busy, but well. Thanks for stopping by…
A particularly Central European malaise…given the history of occupations in this part of the world…
We have have dealt w/ fires, floods, earthquakes and tornadoes. Yes nothing rattles me quite like a plane crash. No wonder I despise flying. Remember Swiss Air, Egypt Air, Pan Am? Ask Renita, I’m sure she feels the same.
